Exciting Progress on Finishing the Task
You may not know that last year Pastor Rick was asked to become the leader of the Finishing the Task (FTT) movement. Pastor Rick accepted leadership responsibility of FTT because at the center of everything he does, is his desire to obey the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 in which Jesus tells us to go and make disciples of all nations. Rick’s heart is to make sure that everyone in the world has access to a Bible, a believer, and a body of Christ.
The sole purpose of FTT is to identify and reach the Unreached, Unengaged People Groups (UPPG) that exist around the world. Right now, there are still about 3,000 UUPGs and many of these groups are small tribes of people that are located in very remote parts of the world. FTT keeps track of every UUPG, monitors their progress, and works with churches around the world and virtually every mission sending organization to make sure a consistent effort is made to reach these groups.
Since launching in the year 2000, FTT has placed Christian workers in all but 166 of the 3,000 identified UUPGs. This is amazing progress, but there is still much more work to be done. Placing workers in an unreached people group is the first step toward reaching an UUPG, and the goal is for there to be a functioning church that is successfully creating new churches.
Pastor Rick and the Finishing the Task network are committed to using every available channel to spread the Gospel. The ministry has a vision to see every people and place engaged in a church planting movement by December 31, 2025. Please pray for this work!
